Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP)

BUAP is a public and autonomous institution of national prominence, committed to the comprehensive training of professionals and critical, reflective citizens at the levels of upper secondary education, higher education, and postgraduate studies. It aims to generate, adapt, recreate, innovate, and apply quality and socially relevant knowledge.

The University fosters research, creation, and dissemination of knowledge, promotes inclusion, equal opportunities, and collaboration; and contributes as a knowledge community to the development of art, culture, and the resolution of economic, environmental, social, and political issues in the region and the country. This is done under a policy of transparency and accountability, ethical principles, sustainable development, defense of human rights, tolerance, and honesty, contributing to the creation of a proactive, productive, just, and secure society.

The BUAP is headquartered in Puebla City, with more than 120,000 students, it maintains representation across Puebla State through five regional complexes in 20 inner-state cities.

BUAP will serve as the lead organization for this project. With a strong background in linguistics, anthropology, and computer science, BUAP brings robust research capabilities and extensive experience in managing interdisciplinary projects.

Universidad Intercultural del Estado de Puebla (UIEP)

UIEP specializes in intercultural education and has a deep understanding of indigenous languages and cultures in the region. They will provide essential insights and expertise in engaging with indigenous communities.

Tecnológico Nacional de México campus Zacapoaxtla

This institution offers substantial expertise in technology and engineering, which will be critical in the data collection and processing phases of the project. Additionally, they can foster collaboration with local communities, ensuring cultural sensitivity and accuracy in data handling while promoting the educational impact of the project.

Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas (INALI)

INALI is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of indigenous languages in Mexico. Their expertise and resources will be invaluable in ensuring the project’s linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

Instituto Nacional de los Pueblos Indígenas (INPI)

INPI’s mission is to support and protect the rights and cultures of indigenous peoples in Mexico. They will play a crucial role in facilitating community engagement and ensuring ethical practices throughout the project.

Technological University Dublin (TUD)

TUD is renowned for its cutting-edge research in ethical of artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Their involvement will ensure the application of computational techniques to process and analyze the collected data in the cloud.

Secretaría de Cultura del Estado de Puebla

The Ministry of Culture will support the project’s outreach and dissemination efforts, helping to integrate the dataset into broader cultural and educational initiatives within the state.

Grupo Músico Cultural “Kaleidoscopio”

This musical group is dedicated to strengthening the origins of Mexico’s ancient languages, particularly Nahuatl, by using their songs as a powerful mechanism for promoting the preservation of indigenous languages. Through their music, they seek to recover the rich history, traditions, values, and beliefs of indigenous communities, contributing to the improvement of society and fostering a deeper connection with cultural roots that span thousands of years. Their work aims to ensure that these millennial languages remain alive and vibrant for future generations.

Universidad Politécnica Metropolitana de Puebla (UPMP)

The Universidad Politécnica Metropolitana de Puebla (UPMP) has contributed to the project through the development and implementation of specialized programming routines for Natural Language Processing (NLP) analysis. This contribution strengthens the project’s technological foundation, ensuring that advanced AI models can effectively process, compare, and learn from indigenous language data with linguistic and cultural fidelity.

Universidad Politécnica de Tapachula (UPTap)

This public can significantly contribute to the “Constructing a Multilingual Parallel Corpus Dataset of Nahuatl and Totonaco Variations” project by providing academic and research support in linguistics, computational language processing, and corpus construction. With their expertise in digital humanities and language preservation, the institution can assist in the collection, analysis, and annotation of the indigenous languages. Dr. Victor Giovanni Morales Murillo will serve as the primary liaison, coordinating efforts between the university and the project team.
